Αν η στήλη ασχολείται συχνά με τον Μεσαίωνα, δεν είναι λόγω κάποιου ιδιαίτερου ενδιαφέροντος, αλλά επειδή η κατάμαυρη αυτή περίοδος της ανθρωπότητας είναι η μόνη που παρουσιάζει αναλογίες με τη σημερινή Ευρώπη. Οποιος μπορεί να προσομοιάσει την κατάσταση με Αναγέννηση ή Διαφωτισμό, ας το παλέψει!
